PPG completes COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project at Yishun Family Service Center at Children’s Society in Singapore.
PPG volunteers celebrate the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project that helped revitalize the Yishun Family Service Center at Children’s Society in Singapore.
PPG recently completed a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project at the Yishun Family Service Center at Children’s Society in Singapore. The project brought together more than 65 PPG volunteers, who spent a half day beautifying the center’s Family Place activity area.
The center supports and strengthens families in need through casework and counseling for children, youth and families. The Family Place offers programs that include enrichment classes, games, crafts and school holiday activities for 30 to 50 children each day.
More than 65 PPG volunteers and parents of students paint the interior walls of the Yishun Family Service Center with TAUBMANS™ by PPG paint as part of the first COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project in Singapore.
PPG provided 130 liters of TAUBMANS™ paint products and $8,500 to support the project. A donation drive organized by PPG resulted in the company’s employees providing the children and their families with vouchers that were redeemable for daily provisions, such as groceries, books, stationary and other educational aids. Other items collected were food products, sports equipment, toys and children’s gifts.
The Colorful Communities program provides PPG volunteers and products along with financial contributions to bring color and vitality to communities where the company operates around the world, such as in Singapore, where PPG has a production facility, laboratories and administrative offices.

“This Colorful Communities project helped expand the spirit of community that the Yishun Family Service Center is built upon,” said Ranju Arya, PPG general manager, aerospace, Asia Pacific. “It is about the spirit of everyone getting together to contribute to a common goal.”
Volunteers painted the Family Place’s interior walls in a color palette of Buttercrisp, Aqua Fresca, Coral Green and Off-white. These colors were chosen to create a calm, balanced, peaceful and fun space.
